Santerre Electric Power Company Limited (SEPCO) is a private power plant development company established to focus on independent power generation in the Republic of Ghana. The company has entered into an agreement with the Electricity Company of Ghana to finance and develop a 200 MW combined-cycle thermal power plant in Ghana as an independent power producer (IPP). The company has also been granted a Generation License by the Energy Commission of Ghana to build and operate a 400MW Wholesale Electricity Supply facility at Miotso in the Ningo-Prampram district of Ghana. The investment cost of the initial 200MW combined cycle power plant being developed is estimated to be $300 million dollars. The plant will be expanded to 400MW following the initial 200MW installation. The project company is a joint venture led by SANTERRE Limited, the US-based international infrastructure development company which has wide experience in privately financed infrastructure developments worldwide, including the first Public Private Partnership (PPP) power projects in Malaysia and Indonesia, respectively.

SANTERRE Limited's international expertise gives the SANTERRE Ghana power project the necessary technical and project financing capabilities to deliver this complex, long-term power project to help ease the electrical power shortages facing the growing populations of Ghana in particular, and West Africa in general.
